2001 V70 - Gas Door

Post by anladoc »

Good morning.

My gas door blew off in the carwash last night, and (of course) the gas station claims no responsibility.

I was not able to re-attach it and suspect part of the plastic piece holding the door on may have been broken off as well. My short-term fix is packing tape, which looks REALLY tacky, but I won't be able to get to the dealer until the weekend.

Any tips on what the repair involves and what I can expect to pay?

Thanks.

Hopefully you still have the door. It costs a lot more to get one painted to match your car than just reattaching the old one. Here's the fix:

Awesome! I just ordered the kit from IPD.

I was able to retrieve the fuel door from the carwash bay before the next guy ran it over and it seems fine. The fix looks fairly simple (knock wood), so I'm less stressed about cost.

Thanks very much for your help.
