reverse lights
My reverse lights on my 850 turbo wagon dont always come on when i first go into revese but will sometimes come on later, anyhelp?

I have a 97 850 with the same problem. I found a post on another forum (brickboard.com... I think 
) I didn't have time to take a look at it yet but here's the solution I saved:
"...For the reversing light, this is a manual tranny car. I
moved the air filter box and found the switch on top of the tranny housing,
as Abe said. Seems the tranny lever that pushes up the reversing light
switch piston had a depression worn in it, so the switch was no longer being
pushed in enough. Doesn't say mush for the qualtiy of metal inside that
tranny. I ground down the shoulder of the switch a bit, so it sits deeper in
the tranny until my VOM indicated engaing reverse would close the circuit.
