00 2.9 S80 throttlebody/throttle pedal sensor problem?

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

00 2.9 S80 throttlebody/throttle pedal sensor problem?

Post by chucksrt »

My mother in laws car just started dying on acceleration? if she gives it throttle it falls flat and she stops and can sometimes go again. The dealer said that there are multi. codes all pertaining to the throttle body Which is under recall but they said that it might just be the throttle pedal sensor causing the problem. My question is, what is the likelyhood that the pedal sensor is bad knowing that the throttle body has known defects? :?:

I have found the dealers try to charge anything they can get away with. since the ecm is covered under warrenty they are probably trying to pass of the repair cost on something they can hit you for. Challenge them and make sure they provide you with readouts of the trouble codes, also the parts they replaced
