Muffler and Tail Pipe hanger repair kit

Several months ago a muffler on my Volvo S70 1998 developed some rattle. I looked under the car and the brackets that are normally welded on both sides of a tail pipe were gone and the rubber hangers were gone as well.

Initially, I used a half-inch metal tape to secure the muffler to the chassis. It caused the car to vibrate violently during initial startup. I had to live with it because I was not going to purchase new muffler with a tail pipe.

Few weeks ago, shopping for parts for another car I came across Scan-Tech Muffler Hanger Bracket Kit for about $25. Purchased this kit without hesitation plus two rubber Tail Pipe Hangers at $9 ea. Installed this kit in 15 minutes. The car runs like new.

Most Scan-Tech suspension parts fail within about 6 months but there are exceptions. My Scan-Tech delta arm end links have been fine for over 50k miles, my Scan-Tech door check is junk at under 1 year and about 100 door closings.

Perhaps the muffler mounts fall into the good category - let us know how they work out in the long haul.
