Volvo 940 1991 headlights

Post by tonyheywood »

When selecting main beam headlights both headlights go out, and the headlight flasher doesn't work! Since everyything on the associated fuses still works, the flasher/dip switch appears to "click" correctly and its unlikely that both bulbs will have gone simultaneously, ANY IDEAS?

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.

Have you checked the bulbs?

The headlight fuses only cover the headlights so nothing else should be affected if the fuses go. Check them as well.

There is a relay in the fuse/relay panel at position K which is front row, 2nd from the left. If the bulbs and fuses check out give the relay a sharp tap to see if it 'kick starts' it.

Post back with your findings.
