XC70 2001

Post by musie66 »

My UK spec 2001 XC70 (actually went on the road in 2000 but all parts inquiries identify it as a 2001 model) has developed a misfire at idle and cruising speeds. It starts okay but once it reaches normal operating temperature it surges and misfires. The ETM was replaced by Vovo dealer at 75000 miles, the vehicle has now done 84000 miles. I read on this forum that a MAF failure often follows a ETM failure. I note that the vehicle was running fine following the ETM replacement until very recently. I've checked the obvious wiring connections etc.

Welcome to MVS.
Have you read your trouble codes?
You should get a MAF sensor code if that's it.

Thanks for that, unfortunately I don't have a code reader at the moment. I need to get one, just thought someone may have had a similar problem.
