more smoke/steam coming from muffler

Post by volvonewbie18 »

i don't think its smoke actually, it doesn't really have a smell or color. its about the same as other cars when its cold out...i was just wondering if mine was a bit excessive, every time i'm idleing, when i accelerate...with/w/o the heater on. what can cause excessive steam from muffler, tranny, engine oil?

Does it happen even after your car is fully warmed up?
I often think mine is excessive too but once the temp. gauge is in the middle and I've driven awhile, it goes away.

it does get better after it warms up, but it still comes out consistently though, talked to somebody and they suggested a fuel system cleaning at about 80bucks...i did put that isoheet fuel treatment in there just recently, haven't tested it out enuf yet...we'll see

You might try the Seafoam treatment for your air intake...it will clean your valves... Read about it by searching this forum.
