mode 2 light flickering

Post by phendriks »

First time trying to read the mode 2 codes on socket 2. The light just flickers quickly. Mode 1 reads 1,1,1, but the car is running rich and is low on power (moreso than usual). The lambda light isn't lit either. Any ideas.

Out of interest, how do you know if your mass airflow is functioning correctly?

Thanks for any input.

Welcome to MVS,

I assume you are trying to get to diagnostic mode 2. Try altering the timing and duration between button pushes while trying to get into diagnostic modes. It tends to be a bit more deliberate with the button pushes to get there. Once you get the timing on button pushing right it should behave as the manual describes it.

Once you get it to take once you will know the "cadence" to do it forever in all sockets.

Post back any results and we will help as we can. The symptoms of a bad MAF is that the car is hard to start and it won't idle or run worth a crap.
