spongy brakes on 2002 S60
spongy brakes on 2002 S60
After I replaced front and rear brake pads on my 2002 S60 with better quailty I have a spongy pedalthat goes to the floor.I did not open bleeders when I replaced pads.I bleed them and still have same problem.

Then it's quite likely that something is not installed correctly. If it was OK before, it should be OK afterward. I would go back and check over everything to make sure that it's all installed right. Especially check the springs. Some people who have had the same problem you do didn't put the springs on correctly. When they later installed the springs the right way, the brake pedal came back. Be sure to pry them over the ears on the caliper.

The springs are on correct.The pedal gets a little better when I pump it and feels OK with the car not running.
If it was a spring/assemble problem,the pedal wouldn't change when pumping.It seems more like a hydraulic problem.Are these cars known for master cylinder problems.We checked for a vacuune leak @ the booster and it is quiet.
