Volvo S40 2001 1.9 automatic help with diagnostic

Hello I am having problems with my volvo s40 2001 1.9, everytime I turn on the A/C it starts heating up and the fans are working without any problem.... could you help with this

Do you mean that when you turn the AC on the engine coolant starts to heat up but the fans on the radiator are on? If so, look for obstructions to the airflow through the radiator - you might have a newspaper, plastic bag, or leaves in the grill or radiator blocking the air flow.
