climate control module 01 S60 T5
climate control module 01 S60 T5
i was trying to change the bulbs in the climate control module and unfortunately somehow shorted out the circuit board. i got another unit from a salvage yard with the same options as mine (heated seats, stc, auto recirculate etc.) i unhooked the battery so the airbag light wouldnt come on. (i learned that the hard way last time i changed a bulb.) $50 dollars to the dealer to shut the light off) anyway, i installed the new part and only certain funtions work, the bulbs light up. but the heated seats wont work, the rear defogger wont work and the a/c doesnt work. if i put the origianl part back in everything works except the illumination. i read somewhere that the climate modules have to be programmed to the vehicle. is this true? or do i just have a bad module from the salvage yard? any help would be appreciated. thank you

It is hard to say exactly what's going on with your unit but YES, from '01 on, almost all electrical units have to be programmed to your car and certain functions turned on... Sorry, but I'm afraid you're in for a trip to the dealer on this one.
