Towbar - advice please

Hi everyone - new to this...first post

V70 T6 AWD configured for Australia. 2009 model.

Want to fit a towbar, but told by dealer that it can only be done by Volvo dealer due to special module etc at a cost in excess of AUD1,600. Being told by a large towbar Company that they can supply & fit for less than AUD1,000.

Want to do the right thing, but is the genuine Volvo towbar necessary? (the other supplier says he can fit module, but will it be the right software etc to ensure everything works properly?).
