Electrical Problems
While having a dead battery. I was getting some assistance at having the vehicle charged with a charging unit on high amp charge rate. my assistant mentioned to leave the key to "on " so the computers would not drain on the charge. The key was left on while charging and it was noticed that there was white smoke coming from the dash, no smell. After replacing the battery the following warning lights stayed illum. - shift to O.D. arrow (flashing), service engine (steady), air bag picture (steady). Some symtoms that were observed while driving the vehicle were it also, shifts hard from reverse, the transmission will not shift to O.D. not matter what I do to try and help that along. I suspect the ECU has been fried. I have just learned that there is also, an ECU for the transmission, and one for air bags. Any way to verify which one or combination could be the problem? If so, what items will have to be done with the replacement part and vehicle to be back in service? the car is sitting in a storage lot in Alaska. So when I fly in there I want to have the possible replacement parts I will need to replace, then take it to a dealership and have everything programmed and the software reloaded. Is this possible?Any thoughts to this plan?
