Just purchased a '93 850 GLT with 222k. It's in great shape but it has a few quirks that you may be able to help with:
1) Growns from engine compartment shortly after start-up and within first few movements of steering wheel. May be from steering itself.
2) Constant ticking from hydraulic lifters. Normal?
3) What's with the 2 oil filters - do I have to change both every 8k?

2) try a injector cleaner like BG. It is probably the injectors instead of the lifters.
3) haven't seen the duel filter setup. The primary needs to be changed every oil change - the secondary every other. I don't know which is the primary - just going or another vehicle that I had and that was the service schedule. Verify with your service manual.
