240 DL 1990 Blower motor

Post by Eric Kropp »

Hi everyone. I just purchased a 1990 240 DL wagon and the the blower motor seems to need replacement. It only runs on the two high speeds and makes some serious noise for a few minutes when given the opportunity to run at those speeds. Is this something that is reasonable to replace or am I "in for it". I have done a fair amount of heater core replacements in other cars, so I am pretty well aware of working under/behind/removing dashes.

Thanks,
Eric<><

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.

To use your own words, you "in for it".

This is the words only method:

This link will take you to a site with pictures: 240blowermotor.

Although he is working on an earlier model the method is the same. Also check out the "chainsaw method".
