Electric seat repair & monitor engine light reset

Hi,
I own a V70 GLT Volvo. I am having two problems. The electric seat will not move forward or back. The other functions of the electric seat works. any suggestions? The other issue is I cannot get the engine light to reset. I believe the appropriate repairs have been done. Any suggestions?
