I know I will probably end up at the dealer (45 miles away) but thought to look for anything obvious first regarding the SRS light staying on. Question one, does Volvo also incorporate the seatbelt system into the SRS monitoring? If I sit in the drivers seat and start the car without the seatbelt on the little red light up top for seatbelt comes on and then goes off, shouldn't it stay on if there is a driver or passenger but the seatbelts are not used? thanks Gojo
PS anyone have a picture of the turbo heat shield installed, removed mine and now can't figure out how to fit the puzzle back together, thanks

The seatbelt warning lights are timed. Putting on the driver's seatbelt simply silences the "ding" sound.
Your SRS light being on would indicate a fault in the airbag system (drivers or passengers, but not the seatbelt pretensioners and not the SIPS bags because neither of those are connected to the computer) and it would be a very good idea to have it checked out at a dealer--as in an accident, your airbag may not fire.
