S60, 2005, Changing Brake Pads?

I am in need of new brake pads for my 2005 S-60-front and rear. I am thinking of doing it myself to save on the labor costs and was wondering if there are any 'gotchas' I need to be aware of? Do you all think it's OK to buy the pads from an auto parts store (Wagner brand), or is it better to get them from the Volvo dealer? Please help!

just make sure you don't hang the caliper from the brake hose as this will do it damage. Also make sure you have a 7mm hex that's fairly sturdy that you will need to remove the caliper bolts in order to change the rotors. Additionally, you will need a big hammer to hit the rotor off because it will likely be rusted on. it's fairly simple, I believe this web page has a write up on it if you go to the repair database.

I recommend the Akebono Euro Ceramic pads. You can buy them online for a reasonable price. No noise, no dust, good braking.

You shouldn't have to remove the disc to change just the pads.

sorry, that's correct, you won't need to remove the rotors to change the pads. I was thinking rotors and pads.
