Aftermarket Radio

Post by syrotchen »

I'm considering replacing my wifes stock radio in an 04 XC70 with an alpine aftermarket unit. I've read that there maybe a firmware update required for the car and that it may result in an ABS code? I've also seen a procedure involving placing the radio in transport mode on on 06 S60. I'm trying to determine if a trip to the dealer is required to simply put in a new radio.

Not that I know of, but make sure you disconnect the battery before you start work or you will get an SRS code that only the dealer can clear!
