can someone please help! I have a 1992 740 wagon. The brake lights do not work except for the one in the door. i have been advised that if the bulbs are good that it is probably a relay. i understand that the relay is in back of the ashtray near the fuses. Can anyone tell me how to identify the relay? also is you have any altenate opinions of what the issue might be I would appreciate your comments.
Thank You
Ron

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.
There is no relay dedicated to the brake lights. If the fuse and the bulbs are OK then it is probably the bulb failure warning relay that you have been told about. It is the round relay on the left side of the back row in the relay board.
Bill.
