tyre selection
Hello from Australia! I have just re-registered my 1988 240GL after 3 years off the road and the tyres though heavy with tread are distorted and need to be replaced. I used to love the MXL Michelin but sadly these are not available anymore. Any recommendations on tyres that suit the 240? Many thanks John

I have used Marangoni on my 960, 940 and 850 and they are superb tyres giving a good grip and long life and I am very particular about those bits of rubber that keep me between the grass verges.
Marangoni is reported to be a subsidiary of Pirelli but apparently there is some doubt about this. It is reported that the Marangoni founder did work for Pirelli.
Read about them here.
