<-----------Lets see what Volvo Engineers are Up to today?
Ok...96 855t.
New plugs (AC double Platinums .028 gap)
New cap and rotor
Previously had problems with the Temp sensor totally screwing up the fuel injection which has been fixed. After a couple hundred miles Now it seems like the boost is too much for the engine or better yet it doesn't really make that much difference when the boost kicks in. Almost like the Boost is slowing it down. I did the above to see if it would fix the problem but it only made a slight difference / improvement.
The boost gauge reads approximately a little over 1/4 into the white. WHen I nail the pedal it sort of bounces but the engine seems either starved for fuel, or spark or something. Does this sound like a Clogged up Cat? Remember I had stated before that I had problems with the
temp sensor telling the ECU to dump gas and caused Black smoke and rotten egg smelling Exhaust. That problem was fixed with the Temp sensor replacement. Could this have caused something to go wrong with the Catalytic Converter? How can I test to see if the cat is going and or is Bad?
Thanks

MAF dead or throttle body clogged?
Fuel line blocked, or pump bad? You can test this by turning off car, going to fuel rail and opening the schreader valve to see if ya got pressure.

I had an old Saab turbo once and my turbo problems were narrowed down to vacuum-assisted blow-by valve - vac leaks causing me consternation. Dunno if the V will be any simliar, FWIW.

Finally decided to tackle the o2 sensor issue and relieve the "Burning Eye"
situation of "Check Engine" etched in my cornia when close my eyes at night to go to sleep. 212, 153 engine code. Changed the sensor, and incidently, the one I pulled out had been Spliced before and had "Japan 5240" on it. I can't find any information on the OLD o2 sensor I pulled out but it was "Bright Ashy White" and the shield has holes in it sort of like the muzzle or heat shield on an UZI machine gun. (Best description i can give!) This sort of puzzled me since I know 850 turbos are so sensitive when it comes to o2 sensors. Must be some sort of cheap generic o2 that didn't last long. Anyway, I have replaced it with the correct one and I must agree it does run better now and the check engine light has not come back yet but I will keep you posted if it does come back.
