s80t tranny problems

Im looking at buying a s80t, 1999, w/114k miles but the tranny wont shift into higher gears per the owner.

Ive read that these cars have very common trans. problems. I guess they use the GM 4t65e trannies.

Being said, what is the car worth needing a transmission ? What other problems should i expect out the 80 series ?

Any suggestions on where i can find another transmission for the car ? Is there a GM car with the same trans i can use i the volvo or does it have to be volvo specific ?

The first years of the S80s were pretty much horrible. Especially the T6.
Besides the tranny, there are problems electrically (from bulbs to sunroofs failing and ABS modules), and mechanical (turbos dying, electronic throttle modules failing), and suspension problems.

I would stay away. Buy a 2003+ S80.
