850 2.5 10 valve 1995
Hi, the heater blower fan now only works on the top (4th) setting and, probably separate problem, the heater is not giving out much heat in cold (e.g. 32F weather). The engine temperature gauge barely gets off the bottom setting when running at 50 mph plus but does so when I slow down in town (to around 30mph) and the heat output from the heater then improves. I had some work done last year when the engine control light came on - probe replaced etc - and the mechanic said. I think from memory, that I could get issues with the engine running temperature, but it's been fine until now. It's done 160k miles plus so any help that keeps it going a while longer is much appreciated - thanks

The blower motor might be drawing too much current, in which case the blower and possibly the resistor are on their way out. The lack of heat in the engine is a T-stat that's stuck open: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... =1&t=25846
This should fix the lack of heat in the engine bay. If it doesn't fix the lack of heat coming out your vents then you may need to replace the heater core: http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.ph ... eater+core
Hope this helps.
