ETM?

Help Please!!
I have a 99 S80 T6. Over the past 6 months had started running pretty sluggish. After alot of investigating and asking mechanics on this site and elsewhere had come to think that most of my issues were the ETM. I sent it to Xemodex and had it rebuilt. The sticker was yellow stating that it had been replaced by Volvo. After getting it back I quickly installed it and it seemed to have more pep, but was still missing when accelerating. I did more research and found that I had a clogged Oil Trap. I pulled off the intake and other parts and replaced it. I gave everything a good cleaning and put it back together. It idles great but that is as far as it goes. If I try to accelerate it bogs down until I start to let of the pedal then it will increase RPM's. I feel like I am at the end of my rope. Can anyone please give me some advice, for I am sure that I am not the only one who has had this issue. Thanks for your help

Check the boost control solenoid. You'll probably find one of the ports full of carbon, replace the valve. Check fuel pressure under load too.

The symptoms you are complaining about are due to a bad/weak fuel pump...You need to connect a fuel pressure guage to the fuel rail and drive the vehicle and see if pressure falls when you accelerate..I'm pretty confident that is whats happening..However it could be a turbo hose collapsing due to oil contamination..S80 turbo's are bad for that.

That's my vote. How far will the revs get up in park?

If the turbos are trying to boost and a hose sucks shut, it will essentially starve the engine of air and therefore it can't accelerate or rev past that point. If you can't visibly see anything while in park, have someone keep a firm foot on the brake and put the car in drive, then open the throttle at least halfway. Stand to the side of the car (for obvious reasons) and look closely at the turbo hoses. Don't do the brake-clutching for more than 5-8 seconds at a time, and give the tranny a good 30 second-1 minute rest before doing it again, this is NOT good for them, but its the only way to get the turbos to boost without driving

All the turbo hoses on the suction side are rigid plastic.

OP, when is the last time you changed your spark plugs?

If it's a misfire causing his issue (plugs) it would throw a check engine light...I bet it's fuel delivery..

I ran a diagnostic and it was showing lower oxygen sensor. so I cleaned and erased codes. The only codes that continue to show up are 1171 & 1181 fuel metering. I can smell gas fumes and that was my next task to replace the fuel pump and gaskets. I will check the turbo hoses to make sure that they are not collapsing. I appreciate all the info.

I also checked the boost pressure solenoid and there was no blockage, but replaced it anyways to make sure.

You smell RAW gas? Meaning unburned like in a gas can?
Or are you smelling burned exhaust gases? Like from the tailpipe?
