Post by chasenfus »

Where in the heck is the Washer Fluid Pump on the XC70. Both Front, Rear not getting any Washer Fluid, fuses fine.

Poke your head under the front passenger bumper so that you can see the pump which is on the very bottom of the washer fluid reservoir.

Looks like there's 3 on an XC. If none of them are working, I'd suspect something else. Do you hear a pump running at all when you pull the lever?

The pumps are parts 6 and 8 in the diagram below.

VADIS, of course, is ever-so-helpful about removing/replacing the motor. It basically says 'remove tank' 'remove motor'.

But this one's got some diagrams that may help.

No Motor noises at all. This happened about 1.5 mo's ago when I was deployed and my wife was on a road trip with the kids. She took it to a Dealership on a Saturday just before closing near Hilton Head, SC. They said it was "the pump" and then told her they didn't have the part so she drove on. I bought a replacement and of course figured it would be quick. I'm going to poke around the wiring tomorrow now that I see where the one(s) near the tank are according to the diagram. Many thanks to you and Jesse. I'll let you know what I come up with.
