Hello all I have a 1999 S80 T6 with SRS problems:
SRS service urgent message
red airbag light is on
Had the Volvo dealership pull the following codes:
SRS-0115 Control module internal fault
SRS-E003 Configuration fault Faulty Configuration
Dealer is unable to reset the airbag light and the message. If anyone can point me in the right direction, what needs to be repaired or replaced, can I do this myself? it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Please also note I do have a check engine light, when I check with my code reader it says CVVT solenoid, I am assuming its not related to the SRS and that the SRS is totally independent of this problem.

Well, first thing I would do is get another dealer. I might even consider sending a small note to Volvo, and ask them (in a nice way) why their factory trained mechanics can't fix a safety related problem (safety's kinda touchy these days...).
To be fair, did they say they couldn't repair it, or that they just couldn't reset the light until repairs were made? You might want to talk to them again, and perhaps talk to the service manager.
The configuration fault could be triggered by a lot of things, removing power improperly, loose connections, or module failures.
The SRS-0115 code implies something may have happened to the control module. It's likely you don't have an operating airbag system, and you should get it looked at as soon as possible.
Any good repair shop that deals with Volvos should be able to help you out, or should be able to refer to someone else that works on airbag systems.
Try the dealer again. It really sounds like a mis-communication, It's hard to believe they can't troubleshoot and repair this (at a cost, of course...)
You can do obvious things, like looking for burnt wires, or connectors that fell off, blown fuses, etc. But excercise caution when doing this, there is a chance that something could accidentally be triggered if the wrong thing happens at the wrong time.
