Repairing v70 Headlights
Hi there. My daughter had a bubby prang in our 2002 V70 and the glass in the LHS headlight is broken. Can you just replace the glass or does the whole assembly have to be replaced. Also, can anyone please provide a link that demonstrates how to R&R the headlight? Many thanks
For the 01-04 V70's you can buy just the lens, IPD sells them (I think) as I am sure others do as well. I've read where people put the light in the oven and the heat loosens up the seal so the lens can be removed. I don't recall what temperature or for how long you need to do this. You could search here on this forum or over on swedespeed and find the process I'm sure.

Hello, I've read NEVER to touch the reflector of these lights as the mirroring will come off. I do hope the derivation of "bubby prang" isn't from hitting a "buddy's pram". Kira

No pram, bubby prang involved daughter being somewhere other then where she was allowed to drive the car... The phone call that night started with 'Dad, it wasn't my fault" !! Technically it was, as she rear ended a car after someone stopped way too fast at a set of lights and started a series of nose to tails....
