1995 960 E, W, S Gear indicator continously flashing Topic is solved

I purchased a 1995 960 with 130K on it a few weeks back. everything has been working fine until today.

When I started it up this morning (it is very cold here now), the gearbox indicator began to flash between the E and W. Also, the arrow indicator on the dash began to flash as well. Any thoughts on what I need to do?
Is it safe to drive. Car seems to shift ok and drive ok?

I had this happen several years ago on my 1997 V90 and the dealer replaced a PARK/Idle switch. I believe it indicates that the transmission is in Park. I was able to drive without issue but the flashing lights are annoying and I opted to have it repaired immediately.
