Cambelt v40 2lt T
Cambelt v40 2lt T
My cambelt was replaced 5 years ago, however I have only travelled some 15,000 miles since it was done. I think the replacement interval is around 80,000 mile. What are your thoughts in terms of when I should replace it, is the length of time the belt has been fitted an issue?

If it sat for a year without use I would change the belt and the tension and idler components. I suggest this as rubber can suffer a form of dry rot.
With it being 5 years into service and not used often (I'm assuming here as 15K in 5yrs) I would replace it. It is suggested to replace the idlers and tensioners at each belt change. Buy quality parts as cheaply as possible, do the work yourself and you do not have to worry.
