2001 S80 broken plastic piece at timing belt housing

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

2001 S80 broken plastic piece at timing belt housing

Post by kdubell »

I recently changed my power steering pump and after driving for a week or so it started to "go bad" again. Loud noise etc..so I was went to drain the fluid and use volvo approved fluid. Upon removing the power steering resovoir return line a water hiss was heard in the timing belt housing. When the housing cover was taken off we found a 90 degree plastic piece busted. What is this piece called, any advice on ordering and replacing? Is it screwed in? Pressure fitted in? It looks very complicated to replace for a plastic piece that is designed to move hot water. Could this have been my problem all along and not my power steering pump itself?

Thanks for the help

Is it possible for you to post a photo of it?
