Happy new Owner. Rubbing Noise when turning
I have just purchased a 1998 V70 and have to say I am quite thrilled. There is however one minor irritant I would like to fix (myself if possible). The is a rubbing noise (sounds like rubber) that comes from the steering column when I turn the wheel. Please help.
The tires are 15 inches. But it is not the tires. The sound is coming from inside the car near the steering wheel. The sound comes when I turn the wheel a few inches on either side.MJJ wrote:What size tires? Is the sound only at full lock or in between?

I just had that fixed on the same car. It is simply lubricant on some part. The tech said it's very common and he did it for free.
