Tow bar wiring on 2001 S60

Post by mopp »

I recently installed a trailer hitch on a 2001 S60 T5. The aftermarket hitch was easy to install, and was initially intended simply for a bike rack. Now I have need to tow a small utility trailer. I decided to use OEM parts and purchased the Trailer Module (TRM) and the 4-Pin tow bar wiring harness from my local dealer. The installation of the TRM (controller) is straight forward, and the connections from the wiring harness to the TRM are clearly identified and snap right in. Here's the problem. No matter how hard I look I CANNOT find the connector to plug the wiring harness into the fuse block. The instructions say "plug the black (SB) connector to the fuse holder" which seems simple enough. I removed the fuse block and looked on the top, bottom, sides, front and back. There are simply no connectors to mate with the wiring harness. I pulled the bootlid sill trim panel and followed wiring from the left side of the car to the right. I have looked everywhere I can in the rear portion of the car for the elusive connector to mate with the "black (SB) connector on the harness". Does anyone know where this connection is made? According to Diagram 9 of the instruction sheet, there should be a connector on the fuse block to simply plug this thing in.

I thank you in advance for your advice, and I apologize in advance for any errors in etiquette as this is my first post to this forum.
