I recently purchased a 1997 960. The use of gas rated at 91 octane is recommended. The engine is the I6. Should the recommendation be followed? What is the danger of using gas with a lower octane rating?

Dude just pay the extra $4.00 for the premium. It's not much more and it's better for the car...just get the good stuff.
