Hi. I have a 99 V40 2.0T Estate. I have owned it for almost a year and it always had a noise when first driving from cold which would disappear as the car warmed up. It wasn't an engine noise, more a suspension/mounting type noise. I could feel it in my footwell when it occured, as though something was shifting when moving off. I had it checked and double checked but the diagnosis was that there was no lay in anything so don't worry.
The other day, it developed into a loud clunking, again near the rh footwell. It doesnt happen when you go over all bumps but when you go over say a left hand side pothole or uneven ground the clunk is on the right. I have replaced the strut on the RH side, no difference, I have checked Roll Bar Drop Links, no play all nice and solid. I have read about rear bushes on front subrame and the oring cure..but I cant fnd where those bushes are located as my Hayned manual doesn't cover this issue. Can anyone help. Either with a suggested cause if not bushes but also with a location of the rear bushes on the front subframe. Thanks. Ed
