Problem: Rear tailgate. How do you disable manual locks?

Post by sjmvolvo »

Problem: Rear tailgate is completely closed.

<<<If you have the tailgate manual locks set to Enabled, how do you disable?>>>

Key fob will not open the rear tailgate.
Ok,
Enter car and go to the tailgate from inside - using the release lever, open the tailgate.
Then I closed the tailgate again and tried to open with the key fob. Tailgate will not open.
Opened it from the inside again using the release lever. Tailgate open.
Then I did something stupid.
I moved the child lock from open to closed for the tailgate and then I closed the tailgate.
I thought this may have helped...I don't know why.

End result: I cannot open the tailgate using either the key fob, the internal release lever or anything else. Its completely closed.
What's worse is that I don't know how you can open the tailgate and change the setting for the child lock back from closed to open, if the above items don't work.

Manual, doesn't tell me squat about how to solve these issues. Looking for a resolution.
