My 2001 C70 conv gets little use mostly sits in the garage waiting for sunny days. the last time i had the car out the oil fill light came on. I did not drive far before filling the oil it took almost 2 quarts to get the oil light to go off, level correct on the dipstick. all the time i was watching the temp gauge and the temp remained in the normal range. after about 5 miles the oil light came back on. i decided to take it easy and head for home. five miles later I heard a strange noise WVIPP I thought it was the car next to me so i continued on, WVIPP there it was again, I immediately pilled off the road to investigate. Temp ok, oil level ok, no pools of fluid under the car. with less than 10 miles to get home i decided to baby it home. the car drove ok but seemed to shift a little differently would not down-shift. I got home alright and the car sits in the garage. i'm guessing the trans leak finally leaked enough to cause the problem. i cant see a dipstick for the trans fluid and wasn't sure what to fill the trans with. an online search brings me here. can anyone shed some light?
C70 2001 trans trouble?
Hey I'm new here too and my Volvo is a 2001 c70 it's the coup thou. I know our tranny fluid is sealed in the tranny, no dipstick. I was gonna have jiffy lube replace my fluid, and filter.. Assuming there is one. Sorry I can't help ya more..

Transmission fluid dipstick should be located very close to that of the 850, shown above.

yes there is a tranny dipstick in the area where Matthews diagram points to. It's a short yellow dipstick, but definitely is hidden under one of those hoses. Just look in that area with a good light and you'll find it.

THERE IS A DIPSTICK
The dipstick is approx ,where that picture shows, perhaps a little bit back further, you need to remove the air intake tube to easily get at it
