I was looking over the engine bay and noticed a check valve (see photo) whose flow direction was pointing towards the back and it may me wonder why. This valve is shown sitting raised beside the top engine support, is connected to a Tee whose two other ends are connected to intake manifold and purge solenoid valve-under intake manifold. I reversed the direction of the valve (now pointing towards the rad.) and started the car. It started right away and idled smooth. Took the car last night to San Diego from north county for a total of 115k miles round trip and car run perfect (even went 100mph briefly) Started the car this a.m. and it started immediately. There are no DTCs or MILs so the question now is - did I find the problem that has been causing the hard starts I've been experiencing since I got this car last month. I can't find any vac hose routing diagrams on the web and the dealer is no help either cuz they want me to bring my car into their shop and do a $825 diagnostics job.
Does anybody have any links or sites on the web on vac hose routing?
I hope the pic I attached could be viewed by others.
Inputs anyone?
