XM Commander radio in 2006 Volvo S40

I'm hoping someone can help. I recently bought a used 2006 Volvo S40. There was an XM Radio Commander installed which is an after market XM Radio receiver. There is a think black wire coming from the small unit that goes into the back of the radio panel area. From what I understand there is a box back there from which I would connect an antenna (which seems to have been removed). I can't figure out how to access the area behind the radio. The area I'm speaking of is above the small tray storage area... in essence directly above and behind the CD player input. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
