Center Console trim removal/reinstallation

Post by alexplatform »

Hello all-

So I inherited a Pioneer AVIC F500BT standalone GPS/Multifunction media player, which seems like a good companion to the headunit in my 2005 V60. I have a few questions I'm hoping some of the more sophisticated folks on this forum can maybe help with:

1. My center console has wood trim. I cant for the life of me figure out how to remove it (I usually have pretty good google kung fu but I cant find anything about it) is it glued on, or are there some hidden clips?
2. the Pioneer is a pretty big unit (6" LCD, about 7" including the housing.) Any suggestions on mounting location/mounting method?

the center console,( the radio and AC control) come out as 1 unit. Do not mess with the wood trim. Two torx screws hold it at the bottom.

Remove the shifter plastic trim cover to get to the torx screws.
