Hi,
First time poster here. My '05 XC70 has been a wonderful car since bought new 5 yrs ago. Not one problem. My wife and I would like to keep it for a long time but we need to install some new car seats for the kids. The type of car seat I'd like to use (Sunshine Kids Radian) is notoriously difficult to install in some vehicles. Unfortunately, the XC70 is one of them. The "forward canting" of the headrest prevents proper alignment of the seat back for a safe installation. I know the headrest can fold forward to allow the seat back to fold flat. I am wondering if there is a way to remove it while the car seat is installed and re-install the headrest in a few yrs after the kids have outgrown the seat. The headrest was installed during manufacturing, so I'm thinking it should be able to be taken out (as if it was being replaced for an upholstery replacement). Any knowlegeable forum here that can show me the way? Thanks in advance.
Headrest removal for car seat installation?

There is, but it's tricky
You Have to "feel" in the bacK of the seat, there are a couple of depressions.
You have to push them (rather hard) simultaneously with your thumbs while someone else removes the headrest.
I can't tell you exactly where they are but they are there

If this is true, it's the first indication I have ever read that what I want to do can be done. This would be fantastic! Does anyone else have experience doing this? How about a simple pic of where these "depressions" are located. Thanks again for any help.

I've done this on my 850 as described. If you feel between the headrest and seat you'll feel the rods ,just feel down the seat back in line with these rods till you feel the release bumps and press as stated and have some lift rests and they pop right out.
