Brake fail light and other lights

I have a 04 s40 t5 that the brake fail light comes on,,,, nothing wrong with the brakes,,,,,, before brake light comes on service engine light and power steering service light comes on also,,,,,,only way to clear is to disconect neg. cable at batt. then it is ok for a while then all lights come on again,,,this only happens when starting any help please

Update,,,,,,,,,, had car repaired at local shop,,,,,, found elec. power steering pump bad,,,,, nothing wrong with brakes,,all elec. tied together...... brake fail... engine needs service etc...... $900.00 to repair
