Denso TT spark plugs too long
Hello. I am new to this forum (kinda). I went and bought some Denso spark plugs today. I get to the install and I notice that the boot will not sit all the way down on the spark plug. After closer inspection I notice that the Denso is slightly longer than the Volvo oem spark plug. Has anybody else had this issue? Can it be remedied or do I need to get different plugs?

Well, you might try and cut the plugs in half . . .
Sounds like you got the wrong ones because the boot should fit snug on the engine. Did you get p/n PQ20TT? Their website indicates thats the TT model for your ride.

Definitely brought the wrong ones. I had these plugs in my 850 and the boot fit snug.
Also, to be honest, I was not a big fan of them. My 850 did not run as well with them as it did with the OEM ones. I ended up going back to OEM plugs in the end.

OEM or Bosch only for plugs...everything else, regardless of what they claim, will make the engine run poorly.

I guess i'm the excemption to the rule. I installed some Denso E3's in my 2000 Volvo V70XC, and they helped the car start a little quicker and smoother. Although, I gotta admit, they don't seem to help with gas mileage or performance, but they haven't hurt it either. I am basicely getting the same gas mileage with the denso's as I did with the original Volvo plugs. But, Like I said, they do help getting the car started a little quicker, so they are staying in. I went back to running Autolite Platinums in mine; the last set of Bosch's wore out way too quickly for my liking and started missing every time I went to merge on the highway.

I am running Autolite Double Platinum in mine, runs great! I took out NGK copper, didnt notice any difference in performance at all. I say for your money, get the Dbl Plat, they will last longer than any plug and since it's platinum on platinum, there is virtually no gap wear. Irridium itself will last longer than Platinum, but those plugs spark onto metal, the metal part of the plug will wear out and thus making the gap big, wont happen with Double Platinums, easy 100,000 miles on them.
