Do you have a switchblade aka flip key that won't flip anymore?
The key to my wife's XC90 didn't flip anymore and I couldn't believe the dealer prices to get a new one. You see, they won't fix it and end up selling you a new key, then cutting the key, then programming. It can cost from $150-250!
So I did a bit of experimentation and figured out a way to do it from parts from a similar unit I got off of eBay for $27.
I posted the process in pictures in the XC90 forum, but I wanted to include a link here because I think many other Volvos use the same flip mechanism.
So here it is: Fixing your Volvo switchblade flip key
Hope it helps other folks solve the dreaded limp key ailment!
