The little window on the dash that displays the temperature on my xc70 will flash the word disc intermittently. What does this mean and what should I do?

Is it just happening when you switch the knob around? That happens to me from time to time it's just that the selection is switched to quickly before the computer can calculate the respective attribute. If it happens just when the controls are idle then maybe the computer is slow or something, but either way it's not really a big deal.

no as I drive it will intermittently flash on and stay a couple of seconds. What does it mean
