This code is for the front heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) and can indicate a signal too high, too low or missing. It can also be a permanent or intermittent fault. It is usually caused by a short circuit to voltage/earth (ground) or an open circuit.
Fault tracing is usually confined to checking the connections for contact resistance or oxidation or checking the cables for breaks. To go deeper requires a breakout box to avoid damage to the engine control module.
How many miles has the sensor done? They don't last forever.
