850t Oil leaking from oil pan

I have a 94 850t. There is only one service shop on the Small Island of Guam, and they want to pull the engine to repair upper rear seal on the oil pan. Does engine have to be pulled to replace the seal?

you can remove the transmission to replace the rear main seal it takes about 8 hours to do...
