A/C Cpmpressor kicks on, off, on, off ......

I recently checked my A/C as it is already getting warm here in AZ. The issue I have is the compressor kicks on, for 3 seconds, than off, then on, then off, and repeats this pattern. I have checked my r134 level and it is showing full, any ideas what's going on here?

That's what mine was doing on my '96 wagon when the coolant was low right before I had to replace the evaporator.

It's plenty hot here in the summer too.

How did you check the level? If it was one of those cheapo guages they don't work! I checked mine and it seemed fine, but then fit a whole can of leakstop/recharge in it. I used the "high miles" formula which helps slow leaks and boost performance of the cooling, and it lasted the entire summer. Was gone by next spring so you probably have a slow leak like I did.
