Broken plastic wire loom

I was getting ready to replace the thermostat on the car (99 S70GLT), and I noticed an area of broken plastic wire loom.
This is on the wires leading away from the connector on top of the ps pump, where the wires from the coolant temp
sensor come in. Would this best be replaced with new wire loom, or just wrap with electrical tape? I am concerned that
over time the wire insulation might wear through.

Just grab some new loom, it's cheap at any auto store. The electrical tape does weird nasty stuff when exposed to a lot of heat.

Yea, usually it's in the Performance or Electrical section. And if you're interested, you can probably find it in blue or red! Gives your car 20 more HP!

Aw they all get that way after a while.
You "can" tape it but you can buy that loop cover at any auto store and re cover it yourself, takes 5 minutes
Tape the exposed wires then cover it with new stuff

Yes, I noticed how bad the wire loom was by the spark plugs last year when I changed the plugs.
At the time, I didn't know that wire loom is easy to find, I didn't even know what it was called.
I am planning to replace it.

Over in England its called split conduit,buy slightly bigger than the plastic conduit its going to cover.May be worth checking how its getting scuffed (re rout it a bit).
