850 powerseat repair

Any suggestion how to fix the driver side power seat? One of the switches for the backrest (vertical piece) tilt does not move the backrest.
You hear the motor running but the seat doesn`t move. Do you have to rip appart the leather seat to get to the repair section and then sow it back?
thanks for any help! my wife will appreciate it for x-mas.

sounds like the belt/gear drive has slipped the cog. you may not need to rip the thread but you may be able to peel the seat apart... thought I saw an article on this in the repair database.
